Summary

The Assistant Account Executive will be exposed to various aspects of client service and trained on how to properly “own” an account in accordance with the agency’s standards and principles. While some of the responsibilities of the assistant account executive will be more administrative in nature, including billing, developing estimates and timelines, project management, and campaign reporting, he/she will also begin to develop the skills and knowledge required to eventually manage projects and accounts autonomously.

Supervisory Responsibility

None.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the account management team with creative briefs, estimates, presentations, planning and other tasks within the department. Looks for ways to help the team get the job done!
  • Manage budgets and billing process for the account. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of budget/billing. Becomes proficient in Brand Cool’s billing software and processes.• Develop understanding of the client’s business and category.
  • Learn Brand Cool’s structure and the roles of each department by performing multiple duties and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Build relationships at appropriate client/vendor level.
  • Stay current of advertising trends (including social media, ad technologies, mobile, etc.)
  • Gather and present competitive intelligence.
  • Keep supervisor apprised of the status of work.
  • Prioritize tasks and assignments to meet scheduled deadline.
  • Present complex information both orally and in writing.
  • Help identify and develop new business opportunities within the account.
  • Assist senior management in developing proposals and gathering information for new business opportunities.
  • Work with Account Supervisor, Media Planners and Finance team to ensure accurate billing and documentation on client specific and agency billing activity
  • Manage budgets and billing process for the account
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of budget/billing
  • Pursue new ways to enhance overall agency profitability
  • Work with Account supervisor to provide a final project budget reconciliation
  • Proactively support and participate in agency improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing and media field (including internships).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including public speaking.
  • Independent and self-directed yet also team-oriented.
  • Strong project management skills; must be well-organized with ability to multi-task.
  • Flexible and intuitive personality who can manage complex internal and client relationships.
