Summary

The Account Manager position is a hybrid role that includes aspects of marketing/media planning, project management, and production, with a high-degree of focus on client service. He/she is responsible for all day-to-day aspects and communication with the client(s) – primarily marketing team members – as well as securing/managing internal resources to execute all deliverables for a specific client. The Account Manager performs these duties in close partnership with the client services and creative teams. We are seeking a candidate to work in our satellite office based in San Francisco, CA.

campaigns that are on strategy, on time and on budget. It is his/her responsibility to understand client markets and profiles, anticipate needs, interpret input and feedback, proactively provide solutions, and ensure smooth campaign execution.
A successful Account Manager at Butler/Till is a self-starter, enjoys working in teams, and has excellent communication and customer service skills. They are well-versed in developing trusting relationships and are victorious in achieving client and team satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibility

None.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for day to day account management of campaigns and deliverables including structure and development of estimates, timelines, action plans, and driving to completion (media plans, creative development, production/execution, reporting/campaign performance tracking, billing/reconciliation).
  • Serves as the first and primary line of contact for client.
  • Possess understanding of integrated marketing execution, including creative and production management in order to lead/assist in developing integrated marketing/media strategies for our clients.
  • Demonstrates local market and media knowledge for client markets with the ability to effectively impart knowledge to the appropriate internal teams, and external clients.
  • Develops and manages to scope of work and client metrics; presents (and often creates) campaign performance reports as outlined in the scope of work.
  • Possess an understanding of the client’s business and category and build similar understanding within agency.
  • Engages clients in forward-looking planning; partner with creative and media teams (and other internal/external resources when necessary) to develop these communication solutions.
  • Helps identify and develop new business opportunities within the account.
  • Motivates and leads internal and external resources, building good relationships with various teams and keeping them focused on quality deliverables, timelines and budgets.
  • Presents complex information both orally and in writing.
  • Stays current of advertising trends (including social media, ad technologies, mobile, etc.).
  • Creates budget status reports and reviews job status reports.
  • Assists senior management in developing proposals and gathering information for new business opportunities.
  • Proactively supports and participates in agency improvement initiatives.
  • Business travel as needed.
  • Flexible work hours as needed to account for time zone requirements between East Coast and West Coast locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing field; agency and/or marketing project management experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used marketing and media concepts and practices.
  • Experience with print production management required.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in the energy sector is preferred.

Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including public speaking.
  • Independent and self-directed yet also team-oriented.
  • Strong project management skills; must be well-organized with ability to multi-task.
  • Flexible and intuitive personality who can manage complex internal and client relationships.
