Brand Cool is a team of problem-solvers dedicated to changing the way people think and act. We help organizations build strong connections with customers, employees and suppliers through research, communications and engagement initiatives. We have deep expertise in energy efficiency and sustainability, and work with clients ranging from major public sector organizations to Fortune 500 companies.
People love certain brands because they have a life-enhancing relationship with them. Those who build brands—companies, consultants, agencies—thrive on the same kind of mutually beneficial connections.
We’ve seen it time and again in the 15-plus years we’ve been nurturing bonds between brands and customers. Strong relationships lead to the healthy, robust working conditions whereby the tangled brand problem begets the elegant solution and the meticulous strategy yields the wild creative idea. They foster positive energy, mutual respect, bigger ideas and, ultimately, greater rewards from the marketplace.
At Brand Cool, we’ve found that relationships work best when clients and their partners choose well right from the start—by paying attention to the fit between needs, capabilities and aspirations, as well as human chemistry. And by together creating the conditions that allow us to be deeply human in our interactions with each other.
We believe larger relationships matter too, like the ones we all have with the rest of the world. That’s why we’ve formally woven sustainability into our core business values and practices, so that we promote growth for profits, planet and people. Brand Cool is a Certified B Corp, a designation awarded by the non-profit B Labs. We are also registered as a benefit corporation with New York State.
For Brand Cool clients, it all starts with our brand engagement method. From brand discovery and positioning to integrated marketing communications and culture alignment, we collaborate with clients to figure out the optimal approach for their company, product or service.
Care to get to know our human side? Our principals have each been working in marketing and branding for 25 years, give or take. Most of the rest are seasoned pros. The fresher faces are pros nonetheless. All are friendly, creative, and passionate about what they do.
Feel free to keep up with the latest Brand Cool news. And if Brand Cool sounds like the kind of place where you could help make great things happen, check out our career opportunities. We’re always on the lookout for talented folks—for staff positions, freelance opportunities and internships.
Certified B Corporations meet higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. They believe that purpose and profitability go hand-in-hand, and inspire businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world.
The performance requirements to become a B Corp are comprehensive and rigorous. They measure things like how a business treats its employees, how it chooses and works with its suppliers, how it gives back to its community, and how it operates mindfully of the environment.
In 2012 we earned a spot on The Rochester Top 100, as the 15th fastest-growing company in our hometown—and the only brand engagement agency on the list. We're grateful for the opportunity to have grown so well and rapidly. See who else made the list.
We are a certified women-owned business. This certification comes through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the largest such certifier in the US.

Stop by. There's always a cuppa ready for you. How do you take your chai, coffee, decaf, tea, or H20? We’re an easy bike ride from downtown Rochester (or Pittsford, Brighton, Fairport, or any other eastern suburb, for that matter).
We’re located in the Claude Bragdon-designed building closest to the apple orchards of Stone Tolan House, which is also worth a look, if not a visit.
From out of town? Not a problem. We'll pick you up at the Greater Rochester International Airport. And of course there's always Skype.
